I spent the late morning and early afternoon yesterday at Potong Pasir.

Potong Pasir has been one of the rare strongholds of the opposition party in Singapore for the past 21 years. The MP is Mr. Chiam See Tong, who is now 71 years old.

This was actually the first time I had actually stepped foot into Potong Pasir and I was very pleasantly surprised.

I have posted numerous pictures of Potong Pasir here. (Right click and select "view image" to see a larger picture). I found the overall ambiance of the ward to be serene with a distinctive old world charm. Had lunch there and walked around for an hour. Lunch was a selection of dim sums, yong taufu and fish soup (no picture of the fish soup). It was very delicious. Take a look at the pictures.

I certainly encourage those of you who have not been to Potong Pasir to do so soon before the languid, neighbourly, old world charm disappears.
