I’m a big fan of sashimi. But it needs to be fresh. The prices at good Japanese restaurants are exorbitant. So I buy, arrange it nicely and have it at home with a glass of sake. Fresh, eat in comfort at a leisurely pace and a LOT cheaper.

Best buy for quality and price in my opinion is Sakuraya. There’s one at the basement of Great World City which is pretty good. The other place is Meidi-ya at Liang Court but that’s the most expensive of the lot (but still cheaper than eating at a restaurant).

In case you didn’t know, I spent the first 10 years of my life in Kobe, Japan.
