I was on the phone before noon and I felt my chair kind of move a bit. I thought the rollers had broken. After my call, I noticed our HR person advising us to go for lunch as the “building was shaking”.

Looking out from my building (UIC Building, Shenton Way), I noticed that DBS seemed to have evacuated their building. A few phone calls and sms’s to myself and some of my colleagues indicated that these tremors were felt in Ang Mo Kio, Paya Lebar, Raffles City and other parts of the island.

And now, this news from Reuters that indicated that there was an earthquake in Sumatra, Indonesia of magnitude 6.3 which was felt in Singapore.

All is ok in UIC Building for now.

Latest Update: Our office has allowed us to work from home this afternoon just in case (1400 hrs)
