Last night I had the pleasure of having dinner in the company of PC together with AS and ET.

Of late, I’ve come into contact, directly or indirectly with various individuals suffering from the scourge of cancer. It was really beginning to irritate me.

It still does, but it’s the wrong reaction for me to have. Frankly, what can I do about it? I’m no surgeon, bio-chemist or a research scientist that I can work day and night to find a miracle cure.

So what I do is make myself available when needed. Of course, pray.

The person suffering seems to be so strong. Are they really? Perhaps. I don’t really know. Perhaps it is the knowledge that we all have to return home one day and that as a believing Christian, that place is a far better place. That could be the peace that transcends.

That’s well and fine to me but what about all the suffering? The physical suffering, of course, but also the emotional and sometimes financial. These are the things that irritate me. It shouldn’t happen.

At the end of the day, though, this irritated and angry reaction isn’t going to make things any better.

So, those of you who can, be available to those in need. That’s a lot already. And pray.

If you feel so led, please do pray alongside us for PC.
