From Asian Athletes, I learned that our Singaporean Gary Foo is among the fastest 100m athletes in Asia:

Usain Bolt defended his gold medal in Beijing with a time of 9.63 seconds. Countrymen Yohan Blake came in 2nd with a time of 9.75 seconds.

These are the times of the asian athletes in the 100m at the London Olympics

10.10 seconds Ryoto Yamagata (Japan) – made it to semifinals
10.28 seconds Su Biantian (Chinese) – made it to the semifinals
10.30 seconds Masashi Eriguchi (Japan) – made it to first round
10.57 seconds Gary Foo Ee Yeo (Singapore)
10.80 seconds Fernando Lumain (Indonesia)
11.30 seconds Kilakone Siphonexay (Loas)

To put things in perspective, there were no white sprinters who advanced to the semifinals.
