On Sunday, I met the graffiti in the alley near the bakery. It was a cat. The words beside it read, ‘The cat sees. Everything.’

The parking warden was murdered on Monday. I went back to the alley. The words were there. But the cat; it had moved.

I looked at my shoes and up again. I was sucked into its eyes. But I saw nothing. Nothing at all.

An author, Patrick Wensink commissioned a cover for his novel, Broken Piano For President that was evidently modeled after the Jack Daniel’s label. Not surprisingly, this did not sit well with Jack Daniels. See the picture of the cover and the label below:

However, instead of muscling in with a heavy-duty threatening legal letter, they adopted a very gentlemanly demeanor. Here is a copy of the said letter from the author’s website.

They even volunteered to pay for the redesign of the cover, within reason.
